u can see lot of samadhis like gandhi, nehru, indira , rajiv in NewDelhi. also in many states. if u see Chennai:- Evr,ANNA,Rajaji,Mgr,kamaraj etc
many temples r made on tombs of saints. tamilians even worshipped mudhumakkal Thazhi. i feel tombs r reqd where it can motivate army people. u can find nadukal in tamil culture.

other civil places, tombs are wastage of public land and money. hence we should remove the existing ones and stop new tombs. if it is not possible for removing the existing totally, we can transport the tombs to particular area(statewise) where the lands are barren and unfertile porombokk lands.

  also mla,mps,pm visit the tomb watch puja on birthdays, deathdays, inedpendence day etc wasting precious time and public money.
  
  fellow tamil politicians pay homage to statues, tombs. luckily evr advocated atheism. otherwise we should have ended up big temples on samadhi, elite brahmin pujaris doing yagna and pujas in temple.
  u can see many old cinemas show chennai in the movie starting anna tomb.
  it is noted that marina beach is prohibited for further tombs.some say this is targeted bcos of politics
