She was the first indian born woman to land in space. May her soul and the other six astronauts rest in peace.

Kalpana chawla's achievement is to be applauded, considering the fact that she was a woman, but she was a US citizen when she qualified.
Indians cannot take pride in this fact. Let us not glorify it & discourage other indians who are struggling as hard, if not more.
It is time we indians got over this colonial complex.

She was an american citizen but we should not forget that she is originally from india. she dreamt of becoming an astronaut in india. her first step towards her dream was taken in india and fulfilled in america...so both the nations have to feel proud of what she has done. going in america has nothing bad in it, its just the another way to fulfill your dream.

//v r here to encourage ppl to do something worthwhile in life like kalpana//
to do worthwhile stuff u dont have to go to space and do that.
nowdays manless space voyage is the trend.
we are quite successful in sending our robots to mars.
infact one of the spacecraft voyager has already passed pluto and is heading on to interstellar space.
