"The meek shall inherit the earth"-Bible.
Compassion, consideration, fairplay, and above all Justice for all. The aforesaid declaration symbolises them all in a
single sentence.
But, when? And how?
An attempt is made in this proposed series of historical fiction based on contemporary history to find answer to these questions.
Scene 1
All the heads of nations are present in the United Nations for a conference and are confabulating on various issues. All of a sudden they get a Short Message in their Cellulars. The message reads:
"Terrorists of the world, unite!
Terrorists of the world, unite!
Terrorists of the world, unite!"
This message is followed by the place and time of the rendezvous. Suddenly there is a scramble among the participants. Many of them demonstrate a sense of urgency and obedience that smacks of the servility shown only by the gangsters towards their don.
Scene 2
President Bush, Rumsfeld, Armitage, Jack Straw and others are discussing very seriously in the Oval Office of the White House.
Bush: Men! I want complete details of all the conflicts around the globe. Both international and intra-national. We must seize the opportunity made available to us by the 9/11 incidents. We must cash it on. And the time is now.
Rumsfeld: : Mr. President! We have collected all the details already. Only that we did not care to read them earlier. But it may take sometime to read and understand the nature of various conflicts.
Bush: Damn it! I don't care about the details. Take it from me! Whoever fights against the people in power is to be called terrorist. We are with those in power everywhere.
Rums: : But Mr. President! Those in power in certain countries happen to belong to only one section of the people of that nation. They deny equal rights to the others and indulge in genocide and false propaganda, just like those in Sri Lanka, China, Burma, Chechenya, etc., I think we have to understand the issues deep and take a conscientious and correct decision.
Bush: Mr. Rummy! You must know that I am not Jimmy Carter who raised his voice for human rights everywhere. Those days have gone. Now there is no USSR. We are the only superpower. And I am the monarch of the entire world. My only worry is that I am not able to crown myself. Find out a way for that, if you can. Don't teach me on morals and ethics.
(Rumsfield looks downcast but understands)
Armitage: : Now, how do we go about it?
Bush: It is simple. Don't tax your brain. Don't tax your conscience. I am concerned about expansionism. Keep all the rulers everywhere under your control. They will keep the people of the nations under their control. No president or prime minister of any nation should have the temerity to talk against us. I will then call them rogues and their nations rouge states. And you must take action thereafter to propagate it.
Jack Straw: : In the case of international conflicts?
Bush: I am surprised at your question. We have perfected the art of dealing with such situations. When there was Indo-Pak conflict in 1971 we openly supported Pakistan. We supplied arms and ammunitions to them to help them kill Indians. How many Indians had been killed with our bullets and arms and ammunitions! Yet, Indian rulers do not bother about it but want to befriend us and want our help to oppose the Pakistanis. We were about to take their sides completely and call Pakistan a rogue state in July 2001. But 9/11 changed them all. Now we need Pakistanis for the time being. Thereafter, it depends.
Jack: : It all sums up to?
Bush: Sums up to the fact that we must use the international conflicts to serve our purposes and change sides periodically and set one nation against another. We have succeeded in the Indo-Pak conflict. We have almost successfully experimented it in Afghanistan too.
Jack: : But, Afghan conflict is within a nation!
Bush: Yet the strategy is the same. When there was Soviet-supported government, we supported the Mujahadeen rebels to fight against that government. Our CIA engaged Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, who was one of the leading drug lords and a leading heroin refiner at that time as its principal client. But when the Taliban government suppressed them we did not care. We even declared that if Osama Bin Laden is handed over, Taliban government could continue although it was suppressing the Mujahedeens. It was only because Taliban Omar did not want to betray Osama that we opposed Taliban. Now we again support the Mujahedeen dominated Northern Alliance because we could set them against the Talibans.
Jack: : What about India?
Bush: Do not bother about them. They will change their policy to suit our needs even without our asking them to do. The Brahminical oligarchy in India alone decides the foreign policy there and the public opinion is moulded thereafter. Hah hah ha!
Jack: : May I know what makes you laugh?
Bush: You see during the recent Indo-Pak conflict the Sri Lankan government did not support the stand of the Indian government. Yet Indian Brahmanical oligarchy supports everything Sinhalese. The Brahmanical intention is to help abet Tamil genocide in Sri Lanka and Muslim genocide in India and ultimately to suppress the non-Brahmins forever as they had been doing all along. That is why they do not even admonish the Sinhalese over their support to Pakistan.
Jack: : But what about Chechenya?
Bush: Last night I thought I must support Putin. So propagate against Chechenya. The Chechens are terrorists from now on wards. OK?
Rums: : But,…
(A Personal Assistant to President Bush enters the hall and reminds of the meeting scheduled for)
Scene 3
President Bush enters the meeting hall and inaugurates the session.
Bush: Dear friends! I welcome you all for this meeting. I have discovered that ,other than me,no leader of any county of the world knows what is good for his country. Only I know what is good for you. That is why I invited you all here. You may recall that the Taliban chief Omar did not know what was good for him. I had nothing against him or his misrule in Afghanistan. I did not care how his Talibans suppressed the basic rights of Afghans. I was ready to allow him to continue his misrule if only he had handed over Osama.I told so openly too and it had been published in all the newspapers on 15.12.2001. But Omar did not. So I went against him.
The same is the case with you. Now a days I care two hoots for human rights. You can do anything in your country. You can do anything to keep yourself in power. I do not care. But, you must do what I want you to do. You should not demur. How many of you are ready to accept this fiat of mine?
(Many voices raise in unison to accept the Bush doctrine)
Bush: No please! One by one!
British PM: : I am with you Bush. I only want you not to listen to the Irish lobby anymore the way Reagan was listening.
Bush: Granted. Regan did it because he was also of Irish descent. From now on, IRA rebels are terrorists.
Chinese President: : I am with you Bush. I only want you not to listen to Dalai Lama on Tibet and the Muslims of the western China.
Bush: Granted. From now on, Dalai Lama is a terrorist and the Muslim rebels in theWestern China are also terrorists.
Chinese PM: : What about the Hong Kong people? They talk about the Tiannamen square too.
Bush: Yes yes. They are all terrorists. Those who talk of Tiannamen square are all terrorists. Okay?
Chinese PM: You must also declare the Taiwanese terrorists.
Bush:That will take some time. But do not worry. I shall betray them at the appropriate moment. But you must be able to bribe our Senators adequately to champion your cause against the Taiwanese. In our county bribing the Senators is called as lobbying. You must learn the techinique from Israelis.
Chinese PM: But when will you declare Taiwan a rogue state?
Bush:You have to do some spadework first. Bribe our senators adequately and they will start lobbying for you and against Taiwan. I shall then step in.
Chinese PM: But, Nixon did not want us to do so when he dumped Taiwan in 1973.
Bush:At that time, we wanted your huge market for our traders. That has already been achieved by dumping Taiwan partly. Of what use is it for me now to betray Taiwan once again? If you want anthing further on the Taiwanese front, it can be done only by lobbying. You can lobby for anything in our country. Our senators are always willing to be bribed. Try your hand. Okay, Next.
Burmese Chief: : I am with you Bush. But I want you to declare Ms. Sui a terrorist. I will support you by handing over any Muslim who comes to our country.
Bush: Okay. Your wish is granted.
Russian PM: : I am with you Mr. Bush. But you should declare the Chechen freedom fighters terrorists.
Bush: Okay. Your wish is granted.
Lankan President: : I am with you Mr. Bush. But you should declare the Tamil freedom fighters as terrorists.
Bush: Okay. Your wish is granted.
Lankan President: : Also it would be helpful if you declare the UNP too a terrorist one.
Bush: Madam! In your country, I find only the Buddhist monks as real terrorists like the RSS and VHP in India. But, at present I declare the Tamil rebels as terrorists. You must be thankful to me how and why I did not even examine the reasons which held the previous US governments so long from declaring thus. Yes, next.
Indian PM: : I am with you Mr. Bush. You must declare that only the Brahmins are the nationalists in India and all others are anti-nationals unless they accept the Vedic dictum that they are born only to serve the Brahmins. That is what our Vedas say. You must take cognizance of our Vedas. If you do not, then we cannot enforce it on the Kshatriyas, Vysyas and Shudras. In our country we are afraid more of these non-Brahmins than the Pakistanis or Chinese. That is why we always instigate the masses and perpetuate civil unrest. It would be better if
you could declare Pope also as a terrorist as he supported conversion. If everybody in India gets converted where can we the Brahmins go to establish our supremacy by birth. So anyone who opposes the Brahminical oligarchy must be considered a terrorist in India. He must be declared as anti - national.
Bush: What about your Mr.Chandrasekar, a Brahmin, who said that he was American and not Indian? And what about the thousands of people who migrate from your country and seek citizenship status in our country. Are they not betraying your nation?
Indian PM: : Oh no! Whatever crime the Brahmins commit must be condoned. This is what our Vedas say. We are now in USA. That is why you are asking these uncomfortable questions. In our country we do not allow such questions to be asked. We do not want our conspiratorial tactics made public. That is why I want your support.
Bush: Okay okay! Your wish is granted. But, be careful to support whatever we do. I am told that you are an expert in removing evidence of the crime committed by your people by changing the history books themselves. Is it true?
Indian PM: :Yes. But it is done by one Mr. MM Joshi. He is pastmaster of that art.
Bush: We want to learn that lesson from you. (Looking ahead of Vajpayee) And I find someone jumping there to catch my attention. Who is it?
Nepalese King: I am the king of Nepal. My people do not like me or even my son. The Maoists want the rule of the proletariat. I want you to declare the Maoists terrorists. I also want you to give me arms and ammunitions to crush them.
Bush: Are the Maoists from some other country?
Nepalese King:No. They are also Nepalese. But they do not accept me as their king. I therefore want to eliminate them.
Bush:What about your neighbour China? Are they helping these Maoists who seem to draw inspiration from the Chinese leader Mao?
Chinese President:No, Mr. Bush! We also declare the Maoists of Nepal terrorists. What Mao did to the kings of China is immaterial now. We only want our power structure not to be questioned by you. How we suppress the human rights of Chinese must not bother you or the other nations. That much alone is what we want.
Bush:There is therefore no hitch. It would be better to keep an unpopular king in power in Nepal to do our biddings. But mind your Mr. Gyanendra. If at any time you talk against the USA, we will easily dethrone you and instal some other puppet as the king or something else in Nepal.
Nepalese King:No no. I will not do any such thing. I will be happy if only you could keep me as the king of my country. You are never my enemy. Only the Nepalese are my enemies. Please declare the Maoists terrorists.
Bush:Okay. Your wish is granted. Next.
Pakistan Premier: : I am with you Mr. Bush. But you must support me in whatever I do.
Bush: Surely Mr. Parvesh! As far as USA is concerned, we prefer rulers for all nations who are not supported by the masses and are afraid of the masses. That is why Saudi Arabia holds on to our apron strings shamelessly. Like many other countries in the middle east. If the rulers do not toe our line we would expose them to their people. Such rulers who are afraid of their own people must be afraid of us too. That suits us. So do not worry. We will help you in whatever you do.
Indian PM: : But that promise contradicts your stand on India.
Bush: There will be no contradictions if both you and the Pakistan Chief talk to me separately in private. I can then convince both. Do not ask any uncomfortable questions any further. I have already done you a favour by not reading the reports on the Gujarat carnage. Be mindful. I am the President of the USA elected by a group of people selected by the Court.
(Mr. Bush then delivers his valedictory address)
Bush: Dear friends! I am very happy that all the real terrorists of the world have assembled here today and accepted me as your don. Hereafter, the international politics is not to be governed by ethics, democracy, justice or such non-sensical terms. You are free to rule your country or rather you are free to retain power in your country by any means doing anything to anybody. I do not care. But you should support whatever I do. This is such a simple bargain. I hope you are wise enough to understand the meaning and the implications.
I am not very happy with the 74 nations which have brought the International Criminal Court into existence. I do not want anyone to question the atrocities committed by our nation on any other nation.
(Indian PM intervenes and shouts) I also do not like. That is why India did not vote for the ICC.
(Bush smiles). I like Indian rulers mentality. They are reported to have 3000 years of experience in suppressing the people of other races. I take a cue from them now and then.
Anyway, dear co-terrorists! The US campaign to install Karzai in Afganistan has cost us "$ 5 Billion in bribes and pay offs to Afghan warlords. AS soon as US and British occupation troops decamp, Afghanistan will again dissolve into tribal chaos". (Report by Eric Margolis in Asian Age 5-7-2002). That I do not care. Did we care for Afghanistan in the nineties after the US and the USSR had left? But what is worrying is that such chaos will facilitate Russia which continues to arm and direct the Northern Alliance. In that event, we will have to talk of human rights in Chechenya, Mr. Putin! I wanted to set the Northern Alliance Muslims against the Taliban Muslims. But the Northern Alliance Muslims get benefits both from you and me and set you against me. This is really disconcerting.
On 22.11.2001, I had given a warning to all of you. Let me read it out once again although it had been published in newspapers all over the world on 23.11.2001.
"We fight terrorists and we fight all of those who give them aid. America has a message for the nations of the world.
If you harbour terrorists, you are terrorists.
If you train or arm terrorists, you are a terrorist.
If you feed a terrorist or fund a terrorist, you are a terrorist, and you will be held accountable by the United States and our friends".
You must note one thing here. I have not mentioned that those who create terrorists are not terrorists. Because, I do not want to make it public that I am a terrorist though I really am just like you all. But for us, Taliban would not have been created. But for Indira Gandhi, Bhindranwale would not have been created. But for the BJP in India, the RSS, VHP and the Bajarang Dal terrorists parivar would not have been alive. But for the terrorist mentality of all of us, there would be no unrest in any part of the world.
So, you must know, that I am in need of your service to control the entire world. You, in turn, can rule your portion of the globe, as long as I wish. But the condition precedent is that you must be prepared to do all the dirty works that I assign you.
But, the US wants money for all such nefarious activities. That is why we wanted globalisation. All of you may think you are heading independent sovereign countries. I permit you to proclaim so in public. But in private you must know that you are dependent on the USA and must pay tribute in the form of globalised trade revenues. You are free to evolve any law or dismantle any law to exploit the poor and the meek of your nation. But you should not question the discriminatory policy adopted by the USA in globalisation.
Globalisation is for you. Protectionism is for the USA. If you oppose, I will tackle you the way I tackled Yasser Arafat. I will campaign in your country and tell your people not to elect you. Globalisation permits me to do anything anywhere. Beware of me. (Mr. Bush waves the assembly to disperse).
