VHP chief discovers the origin of caste system in India.
Following is a paragraph from a news report in The Hindu:
Mr. Singhal said untouchability came into practice with the Mughals entering the country. The people who constituted the SCs and STs belonged to warrior clans who were defeated by the Mughals. When these warriors refused to be converted to Islam they were expelled from the villages, banished from the country, prevented even from drawing water from the village wells and tanks and finally made into `untouchables'. Mr Singhal said despite the persecution these warrior clans did not give up `Hindu Dharma'. Today these were the sections which were being converted in a big way.

This must be the result of a rigorous and in-depth research he may have done on the caste in India! Is their any university to confer a D-Lit. for his research and findings?
