Dear everyone...
Hello, i hope you are all doing well.

I have a question for our Jain friends, if there are any such on these pages.

First let me say that, though i am born into a Hindu family, i have always had a strong attraction for Buddhist and Jain practices.
While i still embrace my family gods and my Ishta Devatas, i do pay reverance to the Nirgranthas and the Thathagathas, and try my best to live out most of their teachings and associated values.
I believe that many concepts in Jainism and Buddhism (even if not practiced by all Jain or Buddhist organizations) are of vital importance (e.g., ahimsa),.... especially in todays world with all its hate, bigotry, war-mongering, greed etc...

But all the above is just an Intro to what i want to ask:
i am curious about the Yakshas and Yakshinis in Jainism. I am curious about how they fit into Jain cosmology.

I was wondering if any of you could shed some light on the meanings, stories, etc... associated with these god/desses.
I am particularly curious about Chakreshwari (and other deities apparently derived from Shakthi), Manibhadra Veer, Ghantakarna Veer, and others.

How do these deities relate to Hindu gods, if at all (which in some cases i am sure they do... e.g., Nakoda Bhairava)? How did they come about to be worshipped by Jains, whose religion refutes the need for gods?

Any comments from anyone are appreciated,... and i would like to PLEASE try to keep hate threads out of this discussion... PLEASE!!!!
Thanks!
