Swatantryaveer Savarkar's Thoughts about Cow Protection

The rational-minded Hindu leader, Veer Savarkar had asked Hindus to take up eating beef whenever there was a famine. Here are his words on Cow Protection:
"O Hindus, don't treat the cow as a Goddess. It is only an animal! Use the cow for your welfare. Do Gopalan and not Gopujan" (Breed cows, but do not worship them).
He also decried all forms of superstition. And above all he rejected casteism totally as unjust and inhuman. He never tried to defend the anomalies of the caste system as some proponents of Hindutva do today.

Savarka is one man. perhaps misguided at that. Hinduism is a nation, not a person.

perhaps you are misguided or shall I say prejudiced about him.
as far as eating beef is concerned those who have a stomach for it should.
others -- please dont object to others eating it.. its none of their business..

it seems to me that most of the people posting there responses here have a jaundiced attitude towards the great patriot veer savarkar!!!
By using words like those by kamraj,these people show what they actually are, literates and not educated!!!

Savarkar was a man of practicality. This can be seen from his statement about cows.
We are all sticken with the bug of superstitions and we need to come out that. Being against superstitions is not being against religion. Most of the superstitions have no relation with religion. They are created for achieving specific aims.

Savarkar is a man of ethics and whatever he did for our motherland is mindblowing today we all enjoy the happiness of freedon but te main reason for this happiness is people like him, i salute to him whatever he said had meaning in it today if people disagree with his views those people have no rights at all to talk bad about him
