Subject:- WHY DO INDIAN SPORTSMEN & WOMEN BECOME ONLY SECOND BEST & NOT THE BEST ? -Vijayakant

Dear Fellow Forum hubbers,
In the recently held Asian women’s Championship held at Hissar,Harayana, Indian women despite a splendiad performance were pipped at the post by North Korea in the Team Championship.North Korea won 6 Gold Medals while Indian women won only 5 gold. Although the results speak otherwise the performance of Indian women boxers make the nation’s heart fill with pride.North Korea may have won the team championship but then that is just by a whisker and that doesn’t snatch away the glory achieved byMary Kom,L Sarita ,R.L Jenny ,Jyotshna and Aruna Mishra. All of whom did extremely well displaying courage, fortitude and strength. If only K.C. Lekha hadn’t got Cramps, Indian women may have finished first beating their North Korean rivals. This was one more case of "THE MEDAL OF VICTORY KISSING THE TIP OF INDIA'S NOSE AND SETTLING AROUND ANOTHER'S NECK"
The recent TVS cup loss at the hands of Australia was another one comming out second best.We came second best in the Afro -Asian championship.Indian Men & Women wrestlers are the second best in Asia and were beaten by Iran and Japan respectively. We are second best in Weight lifting to China .Also in Athletics we are second best to China ,Japan & Korea ???
WHY DOES VICTORY ELUDE US?
One reason is that we are not mentally tough and another could be that the teaching of Bagwad Gita "That we should be even tempered" makes us indifferent to Victory.
We must have the winning streek in us and a desire to defeat the opponent.
Please let me know your comments

Your’s Sincerely,
Vijayakant
