Why is that we are not able to get Veerapan for the last years together. If we are not able to catch hold of one person within our country, what do we say and where do we stand. Or is it all the gimmicks played by the politicians to keep Veerapan safe in order to safeguard themselves.

  Is there any doubt? What you say is absolutely true.
  
  Politicians in that territory, illegal black granite quarriers, timber smugglers, wildlife poachers and corrupt forest department officials are all living off the myth of Veerappan. The looting of forest wealth and natural resources to the tune of a couple thousands of crores is happening every year with the loot reaching various levels in the political heirarchy even upto Delhi. As long as Veerappan roams these parts of Indian forests and his threatening image is alive, there is very little interference from other would be smugglers which may lead to disruption of this well oiled machine.
  
  Rajkumar's family is also believed to be involved in these activities (his son and actor Puneet Rajkumar's mess up in Black granite quarrying in that area was what is supposed to have led to the kidnapping of his father). Even then the kidnapping was supposed to be for negotiation between Rajkumar and Veerappan, but then came politicians who complicated issues and then the intereference from the TNLF and the like which made things even more complicated. Opposition parties used the situation to pull down Krishna's govt in this mayhem. Finally a deal was struck by all parties involved and an amount of 40 crores changed hands. Whose money it was will probably never be revealed. A rough guess is that its yours, mine and ours.
  
  Veerappan got pittance (not that he desrved any more). Rajkumar's family is rumoured to have received 10 crores. The remaining is said to have been distributed between various recipients including the Tamil nationalist parties and the negotiators (infamous media men). Whether any Congressmen made off with any of that money is anybody's guess.
  
  Once again the common man ended up looking like an A R S E H O L E as is his wont. Congratulations to the 'Common Man' for such consistency. May his tribe increase so that the 'Veerappans' of this world can live off the blood of Mother Earth.

  No matter who you're talking about in the history of the world, there is always a group of people who support him, or think that he is or was a good man. I personally think that Veerappan is a piece of shi*! But is there anyone in this forum who think that he was a good man? If so, why? Just Curious.

  Veerappan was of satanic nature ofcourse but many hands raised him 2 that level. Evryone knows he had close connections with politicians in 3 states (Kar, TN, Ker) and in the central govt. In an interview to BBC, Veerappan's wife said he had sent a video a few yrs ago saying he wanted to surrender but JJ never responded to it and got him killed instead. There is reason 2 believe the story that his killing was staged when STF men had actually caught him alive initially. His being alive cud hv revealed major info on who's doing what in all 3 states.

  In all this manipulative political hush-hush we ordinary folk r made fools of in terms of illegally appropriated state & tax money. What did Veerappan himself earn after all this? Why is his family in poverty? Why did Veerappan only send `sufficinet' money to his family money periodically and not give them or stash away stuff in considerable amounts for them. Who is going 2 eat up portions of his so-called buried wealth?

  Veerapan is a smart guyI love him.These kind of brave people r only necessary for our country and not old bloody gutless hags(9'S)like vajpayee ,manmohan and all.Veerapan shld have lived more and ruled INDIA.S hits to Vijayakumar fool who shot him dead.
