Here is a composition by Shri Purandaradasaru. Here the dasaru asks the Almighty – who is great?
Whether YOU or your devotees? Though YOU are the king of this universe, YOU are confined in the minds of your devotees.

Another version of the same lyric starts with – nIne ballidanO hari ninna dAsaru ballidarO – meaning remains the same.

    Lyric follows:

    rAgA: tODi/rEvati/pUrvikalyANi
    tALa: Adi
    rachane: shrI puraMdaradAsaru

nInE doDDavanO hari ninna dAsaru doDDavaro /pa/
nAnAteradi nidhAnisi nODalu nIne bhaktarAdhInanAda mEle /anupa/

jalaja bhavAMDake oDeyaneMdinisi balu doDDavanu nInahudahudu
arasane hagaliruLennade anudina baliya maneya bAgila kAyda mEle /1/

taraLanu kareyalu bharadi kaMbadi baMdu naramRuga rUpadi avana kAyde
varadAyaka puraMdara viThala ninna smaripara manadali sere sikkida mEle /2/

    Meaning of the song:

HARI (hari), who is great ? YOU (nIne doDDavano) or
    your devotees/servants (ninna dAsaru doDDavaro)?
After slowly (nidhAnisi) observing (nODalu) several levels (nAnAteradi)
YOU (nIne) are under control the of devotees (bhaktarAdhInanAda mEle)

YOU are the king (oDeyaneMdenisi) of this Universe (bhavAMDake) with water (jalaja)
Yes (ahudahudu) you (ninu) should be the great (balu doDDavanu)
O king (arasane), YOU are guarding (kAyda mEle) the house (maneya bAgila) of
king Bali (baliya) everyday (anudina) day and night (hagaliruLennade)

When a boy (taraLanu) remembered (kareyalu) YOU,
immidiately (bharadi) came (baMdu) from the piller (kaMbadi)
in the form of NARASIMHA (Half man and half lion - naramRuga rUpadi)
    to proect (kAyde) him (avana)
Purandara viThala (puraMdara viThala), giver of boons (varadAyaka),
YOU are confined (sere sikka mEle) in the minds (manadali)
of devotees who remembers YOU (ninna smaripara).
