Raga Kedar
I was in a wedding reception for a friend's son. My friend sang this song from Bhakta Surdas(1942):
Panchi Bawara Chand Se Preet Lagaye..... in Kedar.
Kedar is equivalent or close to Hamir Kalyani in Carnatic Music. I was made aware of this in one of our annual music parties.
I opened the evening with the Thiruppavai "thoomaNi maadathu" in Hamir Kalyani. After I finished one of my north Indian friends, author of a book on Indian classical music, came up to me and said that he was happy that I sarted with Kedar.

Movie: Aandhi
Singer: Kishore Kumar
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi
Tere bina zindagi bhi lekin, zindagi, to nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi
Kaash aisa ho tere qadmo se, chun ke manzil chale aur kahi door kahi - 2
Tum gar saath ho, manzilo ki kami to nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi
Jee mein aata hai, tere daaman mein, sar jhuka ke ham rote rahe, rote rahe - 2
Teri bhi aankho mein, aansuo ki nami to nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi,
shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi
Tere bina zindagi bhi lekin, zindagi, to nahi,
zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi
Tum jo keh do to aaj ki raat, chaand doobega nahi, raat ko rok lo -2
Raat ki baat hai, aur zindagi baaki to nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi,
shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi
Tere bina zindagi bhi lekin, zindagi, to nahi,
zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi
Such a beautiful movie, such a beautiful song ... lovely words, music & voice... I like the bit where he sings
"Tum jo keh do to aaj ki raat, chaand doobega nahi, raat ko rok lo " - like a child asking the mother to stop the night

The moment will arrive when you are comfortable with who you are, and what you are--when you don't feel the need to apologize for anything or to deny anything. To be comfortable in your own skin is the beginning of strength.

It would be nice if all the hubbers posting song in this thread can upload the MP3 in rapidshare and leave the link here.
The song from Aandhi is a amazing number
They have also used this number in Dil Vil Pyar Vyar .

Anoushka,
Cool song! Incidentally, I was youtube-ing the song just an hour ago. Here's the longer duet version:
(KK joins in the later part)
BTW, prefer some other site than rapidshare. It doesn't work on my side. Thanks.

Here is a song that my (male) friend claims is on every single woman's favourite list. I don't know about others, but it surely is in my list
I think this movie is the best of Gulzar's. Any one who has seen the movie will only fall in love with the song even more...
