'Breakfast' ----- That's a 'BIG' problem....I have to prepare something which will cook fast and at the same time I should be able to eat it fast....If you plan for breakfast the previous night it helps a lot....
Are you looking for something precisely Indian or anything would do?
If you like sausages ......then all you have to do is take them out of the freezer and stick them in the microwave for 40 secs...
And you have the usual toast, preserves, jelly, peanut butter or marmalade routine.....
If you have time you could make some semiya uppma.......it cooks faster than ravai
You could always eat a bagel & cream cheese, scrambled eggs or omelets
If you like pancakes, they take no time at all...... they are so easy to make.
or you could heat up frozen waffles....
If you want something Indian....then you could always make 'kodumai dosai'......and eat them with 'idli podi'.......
or 'kadalai mavu dosai'.........or if you have time to steam idlis them ........you get the 'MTR rava idli mix'.........they are quite good.........
or you can get a packet of rice sticks and soak them for 10 mins and make 'instant idiappam'.......
if you don't mind them you can even cook a packet of 'cous cous'.......though it might be more appropriate for lunch......
if you have to dough done the previous day then you can even roll out some parathas
or if you have dosai mavu then what better than that? Nothing can beat dosai for breakfast.
If you are in the mood for instant 'rava dosai' then you can mix some instant 'rise corn meal' with some curd and the seasonings.......
This is what I do for breakfast......I hope I've been of some help to you.

Hi Vishali,
Why don't you try Pillsbury crescent. Its easy to make and tasty too.
Also pittu is easy to make. Both takes 5 min. of preparation time and 10-15 min. of cooking time.
If you are interested i can tell you how to make those.

Hi Arthi,
Why don't you write about Pillsbury Crescent and Puttu. Looking at the time it requires, it sounds very encouraging. Please post the preparation methods

Sush,
The easiest way to make pancakes is from the pancake mix available in the stores. But pancakes are not all that difficult to make but you should avoid overmixing them if you want soft fluffy pancakes. Here is an easy recipe for Banana pancakes. If you like it sweet then you should add more sugar to the recipe.
Banana pancakes :
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 ripe bananas, mashed
Directions
1 Combine flour, white sugar, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, mix together egg, milk, vegetable oil and bananas.
2 Stir flour mixture into banana mixture; batter will be slightly lumpy.
3 Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Cook until pancakes are golden brown on both sides; serve hot.

Vishali,
1. Pillsbury Crescent
The dough is available in American Grocery stores(Refrigerated sectin). You can buy Original, though there are flavours like butter etc.
Look at both sides of the dough to find out where the rolling ended and you can unroll it. You will get 2 sheets each when teared along the perforation you'll have 4 triangle shaped dough. Just roll them as the direction given on the packing. But if you are a sweet lover you can sprinkle sugar as needed before you roll them. Spread aluminium foil and Preheat the oven and bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 min. Crispy and hot breakfast is ready.
Note: After rolling you can brush the top portion of the dough with beaten egg so that the crescent looks shiny but the drawback is after cooking its tough to remove it without spoiling the shape.
2. Puttu
1 cup Rice flour
3/4 cup Idli rava flour
Fry both seperately at low heat(till you feel hot on touching the flour)and add little salt and mix both. Let it cool down.
Take needed amount of this flour and sprinkle hot(not necessarily too hot) water in 1:1/4 ratio and mix it. Then cook it as you steam idli for 10-12 min. in medium flame.
Add sugar and grated coconut as needed. Hot pittu is ready to serve.
Good luck and let me know the result.
